History of Batur Geopark

Geopark Batur Museum is located in Bali at Raya Penelokan Street, Kintamani, Bangli, Bali Province. This museum that is located at the south of Batur Mountain has a lot information about national geopark and global geopark. The museum demonstration room is based on the concept of a geopark or earth park, consisting of geological, biological, and cultural diversity. Geological diversity is generally filled by rocks from the eruption of Mount Batur. At first the museum was named the Batur Volcano Museum. This museum was built in collaboration between the Directorate of Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, the Directorate General of Geology and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources; with Bappeda Bangli.Geopark Batur Museum is located in Bali at Raya Penelokan Street, Kintamani, Bangli, Bali Province.   1. February 10th, 2004: a cooperation agreement was signed between the Director General of Geology and Mineral Resources of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, with the Governor of Bali and the Regent of Bangli, as well as with the Directorate General of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, in relation to the utilization of the 1.09-area Panelokan Nature Park. hectares for the construction of the Batur Volcano Museum.

  2. March 26th, 2004: Laying of the first stone for the construction of the Batur Volcano Museum

  3. May 10th, 2007: Batur Volcano Museum is signed by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources.

  4. December 22nd, 2011: The Batur Volcano Museum was later developed to become the Batur Geopark Museum.
